Craig Goodwin, MA, MSN, PMHNP-BC, APRN, LPCA
Craig Goodwin has worked with children, teens, and families in the mental health field for nearly 20 years. He has been a therapist with Stephens Behavior Consulting since 2024 and has worked as a registered nurse since 2021. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) and recently completed his master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Craig works with children as young as four, teens, and parents experiencing a wide range of behavioral and emotional concerns. While he works with individuals and families from all backgrounds, his primary areas of focus include foster and adoptive families, neurodivergent children and teens, and young people affected by prenatal exposure to drugs and alcohol.
As an adoptive parent of children diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Craig has personal experience with many of the unique challenges that can come with raising children with complex developmental and behavioral needs. This experience, combined with his professional background, gives him a particular interest in helping families better understand their children and find practical strategies that work in everyday life.
Craig draws from a variety of counseling approaches rather than relying on a single theory. His style is grounded in mindfulness, practicality, play, self-acceptance, and building a strong therapeutic relationship. He believes that effective therapy should be useful in real life, not just something that happens in the therapy room.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Craig can also provide medication management. While many emotional and behavioral difficulties can be effectively addressed through therapy and behavioral strategies alone, medication can sometimes be an important part of treatment. Craig takes an individualized approach to medication management, particularly when working with children and teens whose symptoms are related to complex developmental or neurobehavioral conditions.
Craig currently accepts insurance for counseling appointments. His medication management practice is currently self-pay while his nurse practitioner insurance credentialing is pending. Medication management is $150 for the initial one-hour evaluation and $100 for follow-up appointments.
Craig offers both in-person and telehealth appointments.
