Eric Parsley, Student

Eric is a clinical mental health counseling intern at Stephens Behavior Consulting and will receive an M.Ed. from Lindsey Wilson University in December 2026. He has two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

I understand the courage it takes to enter therapy and strive to fully understand each client’s unique experience, including their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I value being fully present with individuals as we work through the inevitable challenges that accompany personal growth and change.

My first two semesters of clinical training were experienced under supervision at a private practice, where I collaborated with a wide range of client populations, including children and young people, couples, families, and adults, to explore and practice effective ways of responding to difficult personal and emotional experiences. I am trained in facilitating client-centered therapy and approach most psychological and behavioral concerns from a CBT perspective. Yet, I often draw from other behavioral approaches and incorporate a variety of evidence-based strategies, like mindfulness, to tailor treatment plans to client needs.

I was raised in Paducah, Kentucky, lived in Lexington for 20 years, and recently returned to Paducah. Much of my upbringing was shaped by sports, where I learned the value of perseverance, teamwork, self-awareness, and growth. Those experiences still shape the collaborative, encouraging approach I bring to therapy. I am still a sports enthusiast. I spend most of my free time with my dogs, reading, enjoying time with close friends, or exercising.
