Jennifer Stephens (She/Her) is the clinical supervisor and co-owner. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, and a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in KY.
Education:
Jen obtained her BS in psychology from Truman State University in 2004. This included additional internships at the Belleville Child Advocacy Center and Edgewood Children’s Center (residential facility in St. Louis, MO), as well as research in biofeedback.
She obtained her MEd from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, in 2008. During graduate school, she gained additional experience in residential settings and as a social worker supporting adults with mental health needs, linking them to resources.
She then completed her BCBA certification training at Florida Institute of Technology in 2012.
Work Experience:
During graduate school, she worked in a residential facility supporting children who had experienced traumatic life events and were currently placed in a higher level of care. She also gained experience as a social worker for BJC Behavioral Health, supporting adults with mental health diagnoses in navigating life stressors and accessing community resources to support their mental and physical health needs. She then took a job as a counselor at Seven Counties, where she worked from 2008 to 2014, providing group counseling, family therapy, and individual therapy to people in the office, home, school, and community setting. Her approach:
She approaches therapy as a collaborative partnership, meeting you where you are and helping you navigate what feels most meaningful and important. Therapy is intended to be a safe, supportive space to explore your experiences, gain clarity, and move toward the path that aligns with your values.
When working with children, she practices through an Adlerian play therapy lens, fostering connection, capability, courage, and a deep sense of belonging. She also integrates a family systems perspective, involving family members when appropriate to strengthen the health of the entire unit.
She views therapy as a meaningful form of self-care—an opportunity to better understand yourself, grow intentionally, and show up more authentically in your relationships and daily life. Whether you are seeking support for your child, yourself, or your family, she welcomes the opportunity to walk alongside you in that process.
Supervision:
She also provides supervision for both their LPCA and fieldwork experience towards their BCBA, with supervision training and credentials for both, as well as clinical supervision for those completing practicum or internships in counseling.
