Jonathan Banning- Student
"Jonathan Banning is currently a graduate student at Liberty University in their Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program, and in the Fall of 2026 began his practicum/internship with Stephens Behavior Consulting. Jonathan's counseling approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He also incorporates techniques from Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), allowing him to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. Jonathan is a natural encourager who finds great joy in walking alongside clients as they gain greater clarity, strengthen their sense of identity, discover purpose, find renewed hope, and develop a path forward.
For the past twelve years, Jonathan served in ministry. During this time, he worked closely with individuals from all different backgrounds and walks of life - with those who shared his faith and those who did not. This experience ignited his passion for counseling. He especially enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and men of all ages, while also looking forward to serving individuals and families from all walks of life.
Jonathan is a husband and father of three beautiful children. In his spare time, he loves to spend his time with his family hiking, playing sports, and reading together. He is also an avid runner and enjoys few things more than beginning the day with a quiet morning run. He believes gratitude, reflection, and service are among the key components to living a meaningful and fulfilling life."
