More about Krista Vavro LPCC-S

Krista Vavro is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the states of KY and NC. She completed her Bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Michigan-Flint in 1995. Her graduate training is from The University of Louisville where she completed her degree in 2002 and was licensed in 2003. Krista has over 20 years of experience providing therapy. She completed her internships at Highland Middle School and The Brook Hospital. She then worked for The Brook Hospital in their school-based services and then went on to begin a private practice named Louisville Counseling Associates, LLC. During her private practice years, Krista also worked with Jefferson County Public Schools under contract for over 10 years. She then began working at Seven Counties, INC in Shelbyville, KY part-time in 2011 and then eventually full-time in 2014. In the spring of 2015, she began working at Shelby County Public Schools full-time as a Mental Health Consultant until 2022. She has been with our group practice since 2017 working for us part-time and has now transitioned to full-time private practice. She primarily enjoys working with adolescents and adults recovering from trauma and grief, in addition to other social anxieties. She has training in CPT, DBT, and ACT.
