Shelby Vinsand MEd, LPCA

Hi there, I’m Shelby Vinsand, LPCA!

I am a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands, where I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in the state of Kentucky in January 2026. I have been with Stephens Behavior Consulting since 2025, during which I completed my year-long practicum and internship.

I have experience working with children and adolescents who present with anxiety, depression, trauma, autism, and life transitions. I enjoy working with children to help them build emotional regulation skills, develop confidence, and learn healthy ways to express and cope with their feelings.

As I continue developing my preferred therapeutic approaches, I incorporate play therapy techniques into my work and am working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Under the supervision of Rebecca Patterson, LPCC-S, RPT-S, I utilize an Adlerian play therapy approach that focuses on understanding each child’s strengths, experiences, and sense of belonging while supporting growth and resilience.
