Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the scientific study of behavior and the application of the principles of learning and motivation from Behavior Analysis, and the procedures and technology derived from those principles, to the solution of problems of social significance. Many decades of research have validated treatments based on ABA. While there may be individuals whom have experienced a negative experience in the past or have been warned against some of the older practices within ABA; it is important to note that our Agency ensures that a trauma informed, flexible, compassionate, assent based approach is taken where the family and individual drives all goals. A transparent consultative appointment can be scheduled to ask questions to ensure an appropriate fit between the family and the provider.

ABA service plans and interventions are run by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst/Licensed Behavior Analyst. They are responsible for assessing the client’s needs, collaborating with all stakeholders, and ensuring oversight of technicians that may also be supporting the family and child in learning new skills. They are responsible for assessing progress and making modifications to the plan to support the continued growth.
